For more than 20 years, the Pantone Color of the Year has influenced industries around the globe, from product development to fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design.
Last year’s colour was Classic Blue and without even trying it became a significant colour in my year. We even chose a beautiful blue kitchen when we purchased our new build house.
This year has been the longest year in history, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Pantone have rewarded us with two colours for 2021.
The Pantone Colors of the Year for 2021 are Illuminating and Ultimate Gray.
The combination of the two colours have been described by Pantone as “aspirational” and intended to “give us hope”. As we flail out of 2020, it’s very gratefully received.
Here you can find all the colour code info for Illuminating:
|Pantone||13 -0647 TCX|
|sRGB||245, 223, 77|
|l*a*b*||89, -3, 70|
Pantone Ultimate Gray

When I saw this year’s colours I was actually chuffed. I’ve always loved the combination of Yellow and Grey. I genuinely can’t wait to start creating with these stunning colours and sharing my designs with you.
In the meantime, take a look at my Portfolio of designs.
I’ve also started a Pinterest Board of Inspirational images containing colors inspired by Illuminating and Ultimate Gray. I also have boards for 2020: Classic Blue, 2019: Living Coral and 2018: Ultra Violet.
